Conformation I Made the Right Choice
Shopping at The Grove in LA. I love the holiday season!
A few days ago I was working on my thesis and finalizing the last few paragraphs. I had an appointment with my professor for a read through around 3 pm. After my professor read it, he told me I have done an amazing job and that I need to submit it for research of the year at our school. This absolutely blew my mind because I have never been confident with my writing. I have always felt that I was a mediocre writer at best and I still believe that I am. My professor even got teary eyed and had to wipe his eyes after reading it. He immediately took me over to the Chair of the Counseling Department at UofR and told her about my work. They began talking about me presenting my work at a California Association of School Counselors (CASC) conference. This would require me to continue working on my thesis for the next year even though I would be done with graduate school but the bonus is, if I do this, there would be a great chance for my work to get published! The Chair of the counseling department was like we can work on it together and you will be primary author and I will be secondary author. It was like a whirlwind. I had no idea what was going on. Both professors where talking about what we can do with my paper and I was just standing there nodding my head not really knowing what was going on.
I guess I will be working on my paper a for another year to get it ready for where ever it is going. I’m excited! Knowing that I can possibly make a contribution to my profession is such an exciting and amazing feeling. This is why I know I made the right choice. I know this is where I am suppose to be.
